Meet The Team

Meet Allyn

Allyn Peterson is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Infant Massage Instructor and professional tutor.

Allyn double-majored in biology and philosophy as an undergraduate and did graduate work in medical ethics. When he moved to New York, Allyn trained to be a professional tutor and has worked in education, both privately and teaching in schools, for over ten years.

In 2012, a series of life events pushed Allyn to look closely at how he spent his professional and personal time. He received his license in bodywork to practice and promote more organic forms of health and healing.

Allyn's Philosophy

My approach towards education and bodywork reflects a lot of questioning about life in the new millennium, especially here in the US.

So many of us champion active lifestyles and ignore warnings to slow down and reevaluate. Everyday life takes a toll on us. My mission, both in body and mind, is to make space, so that we may sense and understand our environments a little more clearly.

I work, both for myself and those I care for, to reframe healthy living as a result of diet, exercise, stress management and manual therapies. Whether you're blocked by physics problems or low-back pain, I’ll help you clear the path to a less stressful day.

Meet Jennifer

Jennifer has extensive experience training and evaluating programs for mental health workers.

Jennifer's Philosophy

I believe that everyone has the capability to change and better herself. Your difficulties do not define you and do not have to overtake your life. I will teach you concrete skills so that you are able to cope with the day-to-day. I will also help you with the more demanding experiences so many of us must endure.

My experiences have afforded me opportunities to work with a variety of people, though my focus is on anxiety, depression and grief, specifically with children who have lost a parent. I'm happy to speak with you on the phone, free of charge, to determine if I'm the best therapist for you.

Us & Our Philosophy

Life Together started as a way for us to work together as a family. Though counseling and bodywork have distinct professional paths, we choose to look at the intersection where our worlds meet. Helping people feel relief from stress interests us; we enjoy reading articles, discussing concepts and working together around anxiety reduction.

As our family began to grow, we realized this idea of inclusiveness extended far beyond ourselves. Our children, parents and close friends possess an incredible variety of skills and interests, but more importantly, there is a sense of investment when working with family that extends past the financial. While there's nothing wrong with making a few bucks, everyone involved, consumers and providers, gains an added sense of integrity when family members can come together productively and get a job done.
